Resveratrol is a phytochemical found in grapes, and contributes to the famous “French paradox” which suggests that red wine drinkers live longer.

Resveratrol activates an enzyme called SIRT1 (sirtuin-1), which has a cell-stabilizing effect. The result is that, when activated, SIRT1 can, among other things, prevent cardiovascular disease, and delay cell aging.
